
Oscar Zavala - Touted by the Daily Record in 2002 as the Guru of Baseball, Oscar Zavala has been coaching and training baseball and softball players since 1974. It is no coincidence that Randolph Baseball is recognized as a perennial state power. On the High School level, his passion for the game has resulted in two Morris County Championships (04, 07); three consecutive State Sectional titles (05, 06, 07); two trips to the State High School Finals as well as many, In The Zone students playing collegiate baseball including twelve on the Division 1 level.
Oscar’s love and commitment to the game extends to the Babe Ruth and Little League levels where he coached back to back State Championships on the Babe Ruth level and coached the team to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship Game. He was instrumental in training many of the players from the 2000, 9-10 year old State Championship team as well as the 2001& 2007, 11-12 year old State Championship teams.
Oscar was awarded Coach of the Year by the Daily Record in both Softball and Wrestling. He is happily married to his lovely bride of 25 years and has four children. In November, his son committed to Rutgers University in the early signing period and will attend in the fall of 2008 on a baseball scholarship.


Andy Paulus - A 1996 FDU-Madison graduate, broke into the coaching ranks in 1998 with the Devils and enters his 8th year, first as head coach.
The former star outfielder owns several offensive records for FDU. One of the most feared hitters in the conference in the early 1990’s, Paulus was walked 75 times in his career, the most-ever at FDU. He owns the Devils’ record for runs scored with 120, and leads second place by 24 runs. His 29 career doubles put him in a three-way tie for the most in Devils history. He ranks second all-time in home runs (13), in hits (153), and in runs batted-in (98). Paulus’ 11 triples tie for the fourth-most ever at FDU.
In 1996, he racked up 35 walks, still the single-season record at FDU. His 39 runs scored that year tie for the single-season FDU record. Paulus’ single-season mark of 13 doubles ties three other players for first place in the FDU record book. His 46 hits in the 1996 season ties for fourth-most in Devils history. He is tied for the third-most on the single-season home run list with six in 1996.
Paulus was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Most Valuable Player in 1996. He was also tabbed for the All-Middle Atlantic Region squad and was an NJCBA all-star in 1996 and All-MAC in 1995. Paulus was key to the Devils success, as they compiled a 91-50-2 mark during his career. He helped FDU to a pair of ECAC championships, the MAC Northeast crown, the MAC tournament title and an NCAA appearance.
As the hitting instructor for the past two seasons, Paulus has guided the Devils to a top 20 ranking nationally in hits and runs scored. He is also a private instructor at the In The Zone Baseball & Softball Academy in Morris County where he has tutored hundreds of top players from around the area.
Paulus has previous professional playing experience with the New Jersey Jackals and now resides in East Hanover with his wife Marina and daughter Natalie.

Brian Guiliana - Attended Bayley Ellard HS, Madison, NJ – In 1992 Signed Div. I Athletic Scholarship to George Washington University. Team Captain 1994-96, and a 4 Year Starter.
Senior year led the team in Homeruns and RBI's, and made the Athletic Dean's list 6
semesters in a row.

Sean Atchison - attended Hanover Park High school where he was Morris County Player of the year in 1999. During his 1999 campaign, he also earned All-State 1st team honors, as well as being named to the All-USA Today National Team as an Honorable Mention. In college, Sean attended and played one year at Winthrop University in South Carolina. He transferred to Rutgers University in his sophomore year. Sean was named the Rutgers University MVP in 2003 and broke the Rutgers school record for number of appearances by a pitcher (29). In his senior season, He had a 7-1 record with a 1.99 earned run average; He earned wins against University of Miami and Notre Dame, while helping the Scarlet Knights win the Big East Championship. Sean went on to coach at New Brunswick High School in 2004 and then became the head pitching coach for Montclair State University in 2005, while earning his Master’s degree in Education. There he helped coach the Red Hawks to a 4th place finish at the Division III World Series in 2006. Currently, Sean is an elementary teaching in Short Hills at The Pingry School, where he is also coaching football and baseball.

Paul Ottavinia - Former standout at Mt. Olive HS, 1st team All-State, attended Seton Hall Uni. and was drafted in his junior year by the Montreal Expos and played professionally for 12 years for the Expos, Yankees and Rangers. He is a volunteer assistant coach at Randolph HS and is a police officer for the township of Mt. Olive.
